WILLEMSTAD - A 'Smile for Curaçao' welcomed 325 young people for a dental check-up on Sunday. The checks took place at the neighborhood center of Wishi and Marchena.
The organizers will evaluate everything in the coming days and report on what they have found. Since the project was launched three years ago, more than 800 young people have had a dental check-up. "Over the past years, it has been found that 60 percent of the young people checked have one or more cavities in their teeth," said Smiles World.
The initiators in Curaçao are the Association of Dental Hygienists together with the Foundation Help the Schoolchildren of Curaçao and Zulaijka Pinedo Brandao, in collaboration with Smiles World from the Netherlands.
The next 'A Smile for Curaçao' will take place on November 10th.
