WILLEMSTAD - By the end of this year, 320 new air conditioners will be installed in schools across Curaçao. Minister Sithree van Heydoorn of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports shared this in a letter to the Parliament. The installation is part of broader efforts to improve the learning environment in schools, starting with addressing the ongoing heat issues.
The minister noted that while many schools already have air conditioning, additional units are urgently needed due to persistent heat problems.
The installation is based on the needs identified by school administrations and is funded by a 2.5 million guilder budget provided by the ministry. In addition to air conditioners, other equipment such as fans, coolers, and water dispensers have also been supplied.
