SANTO DOMINGO, WILLEMSTAD - The court in Santo Domingo will hear the prosecution's request to extradite NLS leader Nuto Wawoe on April 26. The lawyer for the Curaçaoan asked for more time. In a video circulating on social media, Nuto claims to be innocent. He has been living in the Dominican Republic since 2016 and says he is an exemplary citizen.
Nuto is said to have swapped a life of crime for a career in the music industry. He is a producer and makes music videos for artists. The prosecution in Curaçao suspects Nuto of money laundering, drug trafficking, and murder, among other charges. He and two other suspects linked to the Mocro Maffia were arrested over the weekend. The others are Dennis G. and Terence van de V.
