WILLEMSTAD – A total of 190 people officially became Dutch citizens during four naturalization ceremonies held on March 11 and 12 in Curaçao.

During the ceremonies, the participants took the declaration of solidarity before the Governor of Curaçao, His Excellency Lucille George-Wout Mauritsz de Kort, thereby formally obtaining Dutch nationality.

The ceremonies took place at the Governor’s Palace in Willemstad. After taking the declaration, the new citizens were officially recognized as Dutch nationals.

The naturalization ceremony forms an important part of the process for obtaining Dutch citizenship. By taking the declaration of solidarity, new citizens confirm their commitment to the freedoms, rights and responsibilities associated with the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Following the ceremonies, the governor posed for a photo with a group of the individuals who had obtained Dutch nationality.
