167 students head to the Netherlands for studies

WILLEMSTAD - This Friday, 153 students from the Stichting Studiefinanciering Curaçao (SSC) will depart for the Netherlands to pursue their studies. Fourteen SSC students had already traveled ahead, bringing the total number to 167 students this year. 

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport (OWCS), Sithree van Heydoorn (MFK), left for the Netherlands on Tuesday. He will welcome the incoming first-year students at Schiphol Airport on Saturday morning. Van Heydoorn is also attending a conference and the opening of the SSC office in the Netherlands. 

SSC manages the student financing for those heading to the Netherlands or the region for their studies. The organization also assists with enrollment in studies and housing arrangements. 

Last year, 146 students went to the Netherlands for their studies.
