WILLEMSTAD – A group of 143 students from Curaçao departed for the Netherlands on Sunday evening to begin their studies with the support of a scholarship from the Stichting Studiefinanciering Curaçao (SSC).
This year, a total of 160 students are receiving financial aid from SSC. Some had already traveled earlier, while others are scheduled to leave at a later date. In addition, 25 students have been granted loans to pursue studies within the region.
According to SSC director Sidney ‘Bicho’ Justiana, housing arrangements have been secured for all first-year students. However, the shortage of student housing for second-year students remains a significant concern.
SSC has already held discussions on the issue with the Permanent Committee for Kingdom Relations and plans to address the matter during the upcoming Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultation (Ipko) scheduled for September.
