123 people have applied for a vent or stand permit for Carnival, MEO checks

WILLEMSTAD - This year 123 people have registered to develop trading activities during the various carnival parades. It concerns 36 people who walk along the route and 87 permanent stands to sell food, drinks and other things. 

 

During a press conference yesterday, Minister Ruisandro Cijntje and Ronnie Cornelis, inspector of the Ministry of Economy (MEO), indicated that the emphasis will be on permits and inspection of street vendors during the 6 carnival parades and also on hygiene.

The MEO Inspectorate inspected 115 companies in the city center in advance. During these checks, the Inspectorate provided information and instructions where necessary.  

 

All companies and vendors on the route must comply with all aspects, be it economic, safety, or fiscal, in order to operate smoothly during the various parades.  

 

Those who do not comply must hand in their permit and will only get it back after Carnival.
