WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao’s 11-year-old chess talent Ginger Jubitana has achieved an important international milestone at the Chess Olympiad in Uzbekistan, earning the required norm for the Woman Candidate Master (WCM) title.

Jubitana achieved the result while competing primarily against adult players and teenagers considerably older than herself, making the accomplishment particularly notable given her young age.

The Woman Candidate Master title is one of the international titles awarded in women’s chess and represents an important first step for promising female players competing internationally.

Jubitana’s performance in Uzbekistan marks a milestone not only in her young chess career but also for women’s and youth chess in Curaçao.

At just 11 years old, she demonstrated that she can compete successfully in an international environment against players with significantly more age and experience.

Her achievement also provides another boost for the development of youth chess on the island, showing the potential for young Curaçao players to progress to international competition and recognition.

The result in Uzbekistan represents an important step in Jubitana’s development as a competitive chess player and could open the door to pursuing higher international titles as her career progresses.
