Miami Pop Artist Jeremy Striker Unveils New "Lady Seú"Optical illusion Mural Celebrating Bandabou with the Kaya Kaya Festival

WILLEMSTAD – Renowned Miami pop artist Jeremy Striker is proud to announce the unveiling of his latest "Lady Seú" mural spaning over 150 m2, marking this his second year participating in the vibrant Kaya Kaya Festival. The new masterpiece, located on Concientiesteeg behind Basílica Santa Ana in Otrobanda, continues Striker's celebrated "Lady Seú" series, which embodies the rich conglomeration of all races and celebrates the true value of Curaçao's people. 

The "Lady Seú" series is a heartfelt tribute to the island's diverse heritage, portraying a powerful and unifying figure that represents the beauty and strength found in its multicultural populationHis first mural "Lady Seú Otrobanda" located on Fredrickstraat specifically highlights the unique spirit and community of the historic Otrobanda district. 

"It's an honor to be in Curaçao and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of Otrobanda through my art," says Jeremy Striker. "Lady Seú is more than just a painting; she's a symbol of unity, a celebration of the diverse heritage that makes Curaçao special. I hope this mural inspires pride and connection within the community." 

This impactful project was made possible through the visionary initiative of Kurt Schoop and the Kaya Kaya Festival. The Kaya Kaya Festival is a groundbreaking event dedicated to revitalizing and transforming urban spaces in Otrobanda through art, music, and community engagement. By bringing together local residents and international artists, the festival fosters a sense of pride and encourages positive change within the neighborhood. 

Beyond the festival, this project received invaluable support from several key partners: 

 AVF Paints  generously provided the vibrant hues that bring "Lady Seù Bandabou" to life, ensuring the mural's lasting beauty. Major support also came from Pro Rent Curacao  and GS pastry , whose contributions were instrumental in making this event a success. 

Adding a special touch to the celebration, Imagine Fine Art  crafted a plate bearing Jeremy Striker's name, a fitting tribute to his artistic generosity. And we extend a huge thank you to Designer Ludgene Valentina, whose creative vision made it possible for a live Lady Seù to be part of our celebration, truly bringing the mural's spirit to life for everyone to experience!

Both mural offer impossible forms and beautiful elements of gold with vibrant color but Lady Seú Banda Abou has taken it a step further, offering a delightful optical illusion experience.
