Landhuis Bloemhof Hosts Month-Long Celebration of Art and Culture

WILLEMSTADLandhuis Bloemhof is once again transforming into a vibrant hub of artistic expression this August, offering visitors a rich cultural program that includes visual art, live music, workshops, and a family-friendly scavenger hunt.

Central to the month’s lineup is the ongoing group exhibition Life Lines, which features works by three Curaçaoan artists from different generations: Vali Leonora, Suzet Rosaria, and Kati Qui. The exhibition brings together a wide range of media, including paintings, drawings, installations, and sculptures, all centered around intimate themes such as identity, human connection, and personal healing.

In addition to viewing the exhibition, visitors can take part in artist-led workshops aimed at deepening engagement with the themes and techniques presented. These workshops are held at various times throughout the month and require advance registration due to limited space.

Families and young visitors are also welcome to explore the estate through an informal treasure hunt that winds through both the art installations and the surrounding natural landscape, offering a playful and educational experience.

Music Under the Thorns

Adding to the month’s festivities, the Cathedral of Thorns will host a special concert on Friday, August 8. The event features acclaimed vocalist Yumarya Grijt and the local band Baranka, under the direction of renowned percussionist Leonard Reymound, also known as Magú.

The performance promises an evening of dynamic Cuban rhythms and soulful melodies, blending the energy of soneos with the sophistication of Latin jazz.

Organizers invite the public to enjoy this immersive celebration of Curaçao’s creative spirit, highlighting the island’s rich artistic diversity and community engagement.
