WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao-based maritime services company KTK Tugs has expanded its presence in the Caribbean with the deployment of one of its tugboats to the Port of Basseterre in St. Kitts and Nevis.
The company announced that the tugboat Tribon has been stationed in Basseterre under a new partnership agreement with the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA). Through the collaboration, KTK Tugs will provide tug assistance and support services for vessels operating in the port.

The expansion marks an important step in KTK's regional growth strategy as the company continues to extend its maritime operations beyond Curaçao and the Dutch Caribbean.
According to KTK, establishing a presence in St. Kitts and Nevis opens new opportunities to support maritime activities throughout the Eastern Caribbean while strengthening its position as a regional provider of marine services.
The company noted that the deployment of the Tribon reflects its commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and professional tug and harbor services to ports across the region.
Officials described the agreement with SCASPA as a significant milestone that not only strengthens business ties between the two organizations but also contributes to closer cooperation between Curaçao and St. Kitts and Nevis in the maritime sector.
KTK expressed its appreciation to SCASPA for its confidence in the company and said it looks forward to building a long-term relationship that benefits both ports and their respective economies.
The Port of Basseterre serves as one of the key maritime gateways in the Eastern Caribbean, handling cargo, cruise ships, and regional maritime traffic. The addition of the Tribon is expected to enhance operational support and vessel maneuvering services within the harbor.
The expansion comes as Caribbean ports continue to invest in maritime infrastructure and operational efficiency to accommodate growing commercial and cruise traffic throughout the region.
For KTK Tugs, the move represents another step in its ambition to become a leading provider of marine and harbor services across the wider Caribbean basin.
