The Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA) welcomed today the first cruise ship back, Celebrity Millennium

WILLEMSTAD - This ship arrived at Mega pier Ernst Jackie Voges at 7 a.m. this morning accompanied with a water cannon salute by the Curaçao Towage Company (KTK) tug boats. Since it is also the inaugural call of this ship, CPA, together with the Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Ivan Steven Martina, Minister of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning, Mrs. Zita Jesus-Leito and many stakeholders were all present during a ceremony to welcome Senior Vice President of Celebrity Cruises, Mr. Brian Abel and Captain of the ship, Mr. Theodoros Zakkas.

During this ceremony CEO of CPA, Mr. Humberto de Castro, thanked Celebrity Cruises for believing in Curacao and for including us on this first Itinerary. He also underlined the importance of the work performed by many stakeholders during these last months to make this return to cruising possible.

Minister of Economic Development Mr. Steven Martina also thanked Celebrity Cruises for recognizing Curacao as a safe cruise destination and reflected on the main values that guided us as an Island to get through this crisis: Perseverance, Resilience and Persistence.
