AMSTERDAM - Unilever is considering selling off some of its Dutch food brands, including Unox soups and Conimex seasonings, three sources involved in the process told Reuters. According to the sources, these brands are considered non-core to Unilever, and CEO Hein Schumacher wants to focus on the company’s bigger “power labels.”
Unilever will ask ABN Amro to conduct the sale of some Dutch food brands, the news agency’s sources said. One added that the involved Dutch brands have profits of around 40 million euros.
According to Reuters, Unilever is also selling some of its smaller food brands in Britain and other countries in Europe as part of a turnaround strategy. Both Unilever and ABN Amro decline to comment to the news agency.
