THE HAGUE - The Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) has started preparations for supervising students from the Caribbean. A public tender has been launched to select an organization for the reception and supervision of students who continue their education in the Netherlands.
Since 2020, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science ensures that students from Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba are received upon arrival and supervised during their first year of study. The agreement with the current accompanying organization will expire after the 2021-2022 school year. “Timely preparation and supervision are important factors in increasing the study success of students from the Caribbean Netherlands”, according to the ministry.
Students in the 2022-2023 academic year in the Netherlands will be offered a package in which they can choose from various services. This includes assistance in arranging the flight, insurance, formalities and accommodation.
For the next batch of students, all organizations that are interested in supervising the students will have the opportunity to submit a quote to the ministry.
