WILLEMSTAD - The Curacao tourist office CTB will clean tourist areas of Curacao soon. Three million guilders have been made available by the Ministry of Economic Development for this large-scale cleaning campaign.

The project will last a year and more than thirty contractors have already been hired. All contractors take care of a specific area to ensure that the island remains clean.

Part of the cleaning campaign is that attention will be paid to a project of raising awareness for the population.

"In this way it can be ensured that the island remains clean for a longer period of time, especially in the tourist areas," says Hugo Clarinda on behalf of the CTB.
