Amadeus maintains its commitment to the technical evolution of its client airlines and the travel industry as a whole. In this context, Amadeus collaborates actively with its clients and other stakeholders in the sector to promote the necessary advancement of technology and sector standards, which will ultimately lead to greater efficiencies and capacities for all.
One of Amadeus' most recent milestones was its certification as an Order Management System approved by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
This sectorial standard will entail the gradual application of a single order register, instead of the multiple current registers in the sector, so that it will favor greater simplicity and agility as the sector moves towards systems oriented towards retail distribution.
Amadeus believes that ONE Order is a rationalization initiative in line with its broader objective of transforming the way travel is booked. Combined with a unique traveler-centered approach, it will provide airlines with more flexible dynamic offerings, customized experience, and smooth purchase and delivery processes, as well as the transfer of real-time financial flows.
Beyond technology, this transformation also reveals opportunities for streamlining and improving the business processes, the organization and the culture of the airlines.
Fabrizio Calcabrini, Executive Vice President, Airlines Solutions at Amadeus, commented: "Amadeus aims to lead and support airlines as they simplify and expand their businesses to become true customer-focused travel distributors, as well as to ensure a smooth transition and the continuity of daily activities. Amadeus is driving this transformation with ONE Order as part of the process and strives to achieve
harmonization at all levels of the sector. We have always said that a change in the sector will only be achieved if there is close collaboration between all the players in the travel industry. "
In 2017, Amadeus partnered with British Airways to conduct the first proof of concept using ONE Order messages in a real production environment and transferred its impressions to IATA to contribute to the
evolution of the standard.
At present, Amadeus plans to hold a second proof of concept in 2019. The ONE Order certification reinforces Amadeus' commitment to its NDC-X program, established with a view to promoting the industrialization of the NDC standard among all players in the industry. travel and improve the business capabilities of the airline industry. Navitaire, an Amadeus company, also achieved ONE Ordercertification as a revenue accounting system provider earlier this year.
