WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao is preparing for a spectacular soccer event, the Legends Football Tournament, where well-known former soccer players from AJAX, Brazil, Colombia and Curaçao will come together. The tournament will take place on June 2 and 3 and promises to be a real treat for soccer fans and sports enthusiasts.
The Curaçao Tourist Board has managed to secure an impressive lineup, with players such as Edwin van der Sar (AJAX), Ronald de Boer (AJAX), Fabricio Carvalho (Brazil), Faustino Asprilla (Colombia) and Curaçao soccer legend Brutil Hosé. These icons will compete against each other for their club or country in exciting 5 vs. 5 matches, contending for victory. Each match lasts 2x15 minutes with a short 5-minute break. The preliminary rounds will be played on Friday and Saturday, with the finals taking place on Saturday as well. The event takes place at the Curaçao Airport Venue, in a specially built stadium with an artificial turf field. This stadium is located next to the road to the airport and across from the Hato Caves. The Legends Football Tournament is a result of the partnership that Curaçao has with soccer club AJAX, with the goal of promoting sports and games in an inclusive way.
Tickets for adults cost ANG 50,- and children under 15 pay ANG 25,-. A two-day package is available for ANG 90,- for adults and ANG 40,- for children. Dinner With the Legends
To start off the event, a ‘Dinner with the Legends’ will be held on June 1 in cooperation with Rotary Club Willemstad. During this auction dinner, the soccer legends will be present among the guests. The purposes of the charity event are to support the Girls League, an initiative of FFK to promote women’s soccer on Curaçao and to support the youth division of the Curaçao football club Jong Holland. The auction will take place from 7:00 to 11:00 pm on the field of the Legends Football Tournament stadium at Curaçao Airport Venue. Tickets for this event are also available through the website and at the mentioned ticket-sales locations.
