KLM to start testing buy-on-board menu in February

SCHIPHOL - KLM will start testing a buy-on-board menu for in-flight meals from mid-February. The experiment will happen in economy class on flights to Oslo, Porto, and Lisbon, a spokesperson for the Dutch airline confirmed to the Telegraaf.

Passengers on board short European flights will still receive a free snack and drink. The menu will be for more substantial meals, though what these will look like and what they will cost is not yet known.

KLM announced earlier this year that it was investigating changes to its catering offer on board as part of a plan to generate 100 million euros in additional income. The airline said it was exploring various concepts and planned to introduce the new catering at the end of 2025.
