Dutch Travel Advisors Experience ‘dushi’ Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - From November 20 to 25, the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), in partnership with KLM, is hosting the KLM Curaçao FAM Trip. This exclusive educational trip provides 12 travel advisors from the Netherlands with the opportunity to experience Curaçao’s tourism offerings firsthand while also participating in the 11th edition of the KLM Curaçao Marathon.

The Netherlands has solidified its position as Curaçao’s primary tourism market, with 203,335 stayover visitors recorded by the end of October 2024, a 21% increase compared to the same period last year. Educational trips like this one further enhance the travel advisors’ knowledge of Curaçao’s tourism offerings as they explore various attractions, immerse themselves in the vibrant local culture, admire breathtaking landscapes, savor the island’s unique cuisine, and inspect diverse accommodations. This firsthand experience enables them to present Curaçao to potential visitors more authentically, inspiring them to choose Curaçao for their next vacation.

On the first day, the travel advisors participated in a Tuk Tuk tour to explore the heart of Willemstad. They also tasted Curaçao’s rich cuisine at Plasa Bieu and visited various accommodations for site inspections. Over the following days, they will visit different hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions, and take part in activities such as a jeep safari tour, swimming at Playa Daaibooi, and a sunset boat trip.

Hosting educational trips for various groups, including travel advisors, influencers, and international press members, is part of CTB’s strategy to promote Curaçao. These trips provide participants with in-depth knowledge of Curaçao’s tourism offerings while strengthening collaboration between CTB, local businesses in the tourism industry, and these key stakeholders. This approach fosters greater cooperation in promoting Curaçao.
