WILLEMSTAD - On Sunday, Premier Gilmar “Pik” Pisas of General Affairs, responsible for Agriculture, Environment, and Natural Resources, symbolically laid the foundation stone for the modernization of the Lagun and Jeremi beaches.
According to the organizers, “The projects aim to improve facilities and enhance the attractiveness of these popular beaches for both locals and tourists.”
The ceremony was attended by ministers Javier Silvania, Charles Cooper, and Shalten Hato from the MFK party. Information boards were unveiled at both beaches, detailing the upcoming projects. Playa Lagun and Jeremi will remain public beaches, but upon completion, they will feature enhanced amenities for both residents and visitors to Curaçao.
The planned improvements include modern restroom facilities, kiosks, and optimized parking areas. These upgrades are designed to increase safety at the beaches and improve the overall experience for visitors.
The execution of the projects has been entrusted to the architectural firm Boon Services BV. During the ceremony, Sharlon Melfor, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of GMN, and representatives from Boon BV signed the final document marking the official start of the work.
