Cruise ship Voyager of the Seas’ Maiden voyage to Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - Voyager of the Seas, the cruise ship of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line (RCCL), visited Curaçao for the first time on December 1st with a total of 3765 cruise passengers on board.

As it was the first time this cruise ship made her port call at Curaçao, Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA), together with the ship's agent Maduro Shipping and the Curaçao Tourist Board, were invited on board for an inaugural ceremony. In addition to the ship's captain, CPA addressed those present in which reference was made to the importance of the cruise industry for Curaçao. This was concluded with an exchange of plaques.

Sem Ayoubi of Curaçao Ports Authority emphasized in his speech that Curaçao has a long-standing relationship with the cruiseliner Royal Caribbean, working closely with their teams, both on the part of branding as on the corporate side. Therefore, it is great to see that Royal Caribbean has grown into one of the largest names in Curaçao.

This year, up till November this year, Curaçao has had about 60 calls and about 180,000 passenger arrivals from the Royal Caribbean brand alone. That is just fantastic, especially after the challenging period we all have gone through.

“So, on behalf of the Curaçao Ports Authority I would like to thank you for being part of that, for your commitment and partnership during this time and of course welcome you to our beautiful island and I hope you get the chance to enjoy some of it during your stay”, as stated by Mr. Ayoubi on behalf of CPA.
