WILLEMSTAD, BOGOTA - The Colombian airline Avianca has restarted flights to Curaçao. Curaçao Airport Partners has announced this.
This is the first flight since the closing of the borders due to the corona pandemic in March last year. Avianca operated a flight to and from Bogotá. Initially, there will be biweekly flights through Avianca. The Colombian airline Wingo is also starting flights again between Curaçao and Colombia. The first flight from Bogotá is scheduled for February 3.
It is expected that flights will soon also be flying from Medellin and Cartagena to Curaçao. In addition to the Netherlands and America, Colombia is an important market for Curaçao. Before the corona crisis, about 25,000 Colombians landed on Hato every year.
