CHATA selects new bartender for the Curaçao Culinary Team 2020/2021

Willemstad - On September 28, CHATA held the final round of the Bartender Competitions at the Flavors of Curaçao event. A total of 6 bartenders competed for the title of Bartender of the Year 2021.

Every year CHATA elects a new bartender to form part of the Curaçao Culinary Team who competes in the yearly Taste of the Caribbean Competitions. This year CHATA elected a new bartender who will compete at Taste of the Caribbean in 2021. The bartender will also join the team at the Taste of the Caribbean competitions in 2020 as a trainee while Brenton Balentien the current Bartender of the year will represent Curaçao at the taste of the Caribbean.

The bartenders had an intensive week with workshops and competitions in various categories. On Tuesday, the bartenders received a workshop at Papagayo Beach Club by Raakesh Madoo (Trinidad & Tobago) Head Judge of the Taste of the Caribbean Competitions and Marv Cunningham (Bahamas) Judge of the Taste of the Caribbean Competitions. The competitions started on Wednesday with a Non- Alcoholic and Rum competition. Followed by a Vodka Competition on Thursday and a Mystery Basket Competition on Saturday at the Flavors of Curaçao event.
