11th edition of KLM Curaçao Marathon sold out

WILLEMSTAD - The 11th edition of the KLM Curaçao Marathon, taking place on November 23 and 24, is completely sold out. This year, a record 2,550 runners from 38 different countries will participate, the organizers announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Although registration for the marathon is closed, spectators are warmly invited to line the route through the Pietermaai District to cheer on the participants.

The marathon offers a scenic coastal course, with runners crossing both the Queen Emma Bridge and the Queen Juliana Bridge, one of the highest bridges in the world. Whether competing in the full marathon, half marathon, or 10-kilometer race, the surroundings will provide a spectacular backdrop. The current marathon time to beat is 02:43:50, set by Wojciech Kopec from Poland.

The event kicks off on Saturday afternoon, November 23, with a 5 km run or walk, followed by the 42.2 km, 21.1 km, and 10 km races on Sunday morning, November 24.
