WILLEMSTAD - The Caribbean Pension Funds Association (CaPAs), representing pension funds across the Dutch Caribbean, is set to host its annual seminar on Thursday, October 24, 2024, in Curaçao. Themed Tech & Trust, the event will focus on the role of trust in digitalization and the application of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) in complex processes. The seminar will explore how trust is essential for the success of digital services in sectors like finance and public administration.
Trust in Technology
As digitalization continues to transform society, it raises critical questions about the safety and reliability of technology. The Tech & Trust seminar will address these concerns, offering professionals in the Caribbean and beyond the chance to learn about applying digital tools in a secure, efficient manner. Discussions will center around the fundamental need to understand and trust the technology that powers important societal processes.
Keynote Speakers and Sessions
The event will open with a keynote speech by Ri Yu, Senior Investment Officer at the World Bank. Her presentation, titled AI in Investment: Trends, Opportunities, and Challenges, will explore the transformative power of AI in the investment sector. Yu will share insights on how AI can revolutionize public investments, with a focus on real-world applications in asset management.
The seminar will conclude with Kevin Ronkes from Logius, who will discuss the rollout of e-government and digital identification in the Netherlands. He will also share strategies for including vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, in digital transformation efforts.
