Boycott Russia and those who do businesses with them

A significant number of people feel impotent seeing the situation of war and massacre in Ukraine caused by Russia. What can we as individuals and consumers do? Boycott Russia and all those that do business with it.

These last few weeks several multinational companies have decided to get out of Russia or suspend their operations in that country. Several countries have taken measures against this aggressor which invaded Ukraine without any provocation and bombed residential areas, maternity hospitals and killed innocent citizens.

What can we do? There are several products that we use daily that are from Russia. Check them out and don’t buy them. You can also check the list of companies which are still in Russia, or which still do business with them. Find that list on the internet: “companies continuing to do business in Russia”. In that case, stop buying their products or use their service. The list changes daily, because each time there are more companies that feel the pressure from consumers who do not want to support Russia.

Will this boycott help? Yes! Ask those who in the times of Apartheid have taken measures against South Africa. Did that hurt? Of course. It will hurt those in power, but also the people of that country. At the end of the day what your conscience should be at peace with is: the price of boycott (meaning when you don’t buy product X) is more than the price the people of Ukraine are paying for the Russian killings and atrocities against them.
