WILLEMSTAD - In order to improve the basic quality of education, the structure and system within which education is organized must also change, according to a final report of the baseline measurement of the Curaçao education system.
The working group that carried out the baseline measurement says that the education legislation is outdated and too detailed. That is why higher and special education must be legislated to guarantee the quality of education.
This means that there must be several improvements and actions in the short and long term, for which the Ministry of Education has now set up a multi-year recovery plan. The plan must ensure that all children have equal opportunities in their development.
To improve the basic quality of education, the structure and system within which education is organized must also change, says the working group. It concerns the Ministry of Education, the various departments, school boards, foundations and trade unions will have to implement the improvements.
