WILLEMSTAD - The governments of Aruba and Sint Maarten have announced plans to reopen commercial airline service between those respective islands and the United States. Commercial airline flights to the United States from Aruba are set to resume on July 10, 2020. Commercial airlines flights to the United States from Sint Maarten are set to resume July 1, 2020. United States citizens and U.S. legal permanent residents wishing to return to the United States should take advantage of these commercial options. United States citizens and U.S. legal permanent residents in Bonaire, Curacao, Saba, and Sint Eustatius should consider traveling to Aruba or Sint Maarten to take advantage of these return options as well.

The U.S. Consulate is also aware that the governments of Bonaire and Curacao have announced plans to close their borders with any country that opens its borders to the United States. U.S. citizens and U.S. legal permanent residents in Bonaire and Curacao are permitted to travel to Aruba or Sint Maarten through June 30, 2020 without restrictions. Flights to Sint Maarten from Bonaire and Curacao will most likely not be available beginning July 1, 2020. Flights to Aruba from Bonaire and Curacao may be available between July 1, 2020 and July 9, 2020, but with increased health requirements to enter Aruba. Flights to Aruba from Bonaire and Curacao will most likely not be available beginning July 10, 2020.
