WILLEMSTAD - According to Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath, of the 60+ companies that we have contacted, 9 companies have already signed a non-disclosure agreement. “We therefore expect that several parties will be interested in taking over the Isla refinery.”
The process of finding a new strategic partner for the refinery is continuing. Discussions have already taken place in America and Europe. A few weeks ago, the delegation went to London. “Those conversations went well. We expect at least 1 or 2 parties to come to Curaçao in the coming period to visit the refinery.” In the coming weeks there will also be missions to China, where a company will be visited and at least two companies in the U.S.
“It is a variety of companies consisting of both operators and companies that are interested in the production facilities, not in management. A broader search query has been set by the negotiating team. The reactions have been positive so far,” says the Prime Minister.
