Update COVID 19: Curaçao becomes a shelter in place; 11th case confirmed

WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath just instated a full curfew. Tonight, the curfew starts at nine as was previously announced. But instead of ending at six in the morning, the curfew continues all day. This will remain in effect for two weeks. The Prime Minister says that because of the situation, the government must take stricter measures to stop the spreading of the COVID-19 virus.

The Prime Minister indicated that people with a vital profession are exempted from this new measure. Also, it is not allowed to invite others to your home. Everyone must stay in their own homes.

If you have to leave the house for an emergency: send a mail to info@kalamidat.cw to get permission if necessary.

All shops except pharmacies, supermarkets, minimarket, gas stations and hardware stores must close at 7pm.

Public transport continues for people with vital professions.
