Trade unions to meet on humanitarian aid to Venezuela

WILLEMSTAD - Trade unions are coming together today to determine a position on Curaçao's participation in providing humanitarian aid to Venezuela. The fact that Curaçao is joining forces with America is a thorn in the eyes of the trade unions.

According to them, the United States of America uses Curaçao’s position in this and it would get the island in a lot of trouble since Venezuela has been an economic partner for more than 100 years.

The unions will talk about solidarity for Venezuela today, but will also determine a position in terms of the choice made by the current government. According to them, this is the way for America to use Curaçao for possible military actions.

The umbrella organization of trade unions CGTC, together with the SSK, have called the meeting.
