Tighter controls on tax rules in December

WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Finance is set to enforce stricter controls on compliance with tax regulations during events in December. This was announced by the ministry in a press release.

Various parties and events take place during this month, featuring performances by local and foreign artists. "Organizers of such events have fiscal obligations, particularly regarding the tax on income from ticket sales. For foreign artists, a fixed rate of 9.75 percent applies, in addition to other tax implications," stated the ministry.

The ministry emphasizes that organizers are also responsible for withholding and paying taxes and social premiums on the salaries of employees involved in the event. It also stresses the importance of clear administration to prevent the application of higher anonymous rates.

The ministry advises all organizers to take necessary measures in a timely manner to avoid issues.
