WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and hotel chain Corendon are joining forces in training staff for the hotel and hospitality industry.
Next year, Corendon will open the first 400 of a total of 850 rooms at an all-inclusive resort. The hotel provides many new jobs. Minister Marilyn Alcala-Walle and general manager of the hotel Biray Ogut discussed how in particular younger job seekers can be considered.
It has been agreed that the ministry will provide the basic training and the Corendon Academy (a permanent on the job learning center) to be founded on Curacao will provide more specialist knowledge and skills.
