WILLEMSTAD - The Coast Guard enforces the laws and continues to arrest persons who want to gain illegal access to the islands. Recently, an arrest of 10 illegal immigrants with firearms and narcotics was carried out near Aruba. The illegal persons and contraband have been handed over to the police force.

The Coast Guard is alert and uses all its units and radars to detect illegal practices. Zr.Ms. Groningen with its NH-90 helicopter is used to support the efforts of the Coast Guard.

In addition, the patrols are supported by the Curaçao and the Aruban militia.
