Technical issue disrupts operations at Curaçao International Airport

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao International Airport experienced a technical disruption in its communication systems yesterday due to an issue with SITA, an international IT services provider specializing in airport operations. The announcement came from Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP).

The outage affected the airport's internet connectivity and passenger systems, including check-in counters, which had to temporarily shift to manual processing. CAP assured that the issue did not compromise flight safety or air traffic, but acknowledged that it caused delays and longer wait times for passengers.

“We appreciate travelers’ patience during the disruption and worked closely with SITA to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” CAP stated.

Passengers were advised to plan for potential delays and allow extra time for their journeys. Normal operations resumed after the systems were restored, but CAP reiterated its commitment to minimizing disruptions and ensuring efficient service.

The airport’s swift response highlights its focus on maintaining safe and effective operations even during unforeseen technical challenges.
