WILLEMSTAD - Whether the suspended Inspector General of Health Care Jan Huurman gets the opportunity to defend himself verbally is unclear.

Huurman was suspended in early December and his dismissal was announced by The Minister of Public Health Suzanne Camelia-Römer. According to the Minister, Huurman sent her a message through Whatsapp that was offensive. “He used his position as inspector to fight with me verbally,” said the Minister.

Camelia-Römer wants to deal with everything as quickly as possible.

There were rumors stating that Camelia-Römer had succumbed to pressure from the medical sector. But she says that it is not true, those are just fables. “If I succumb to pressure, I would be a spin-coil right now because it comes from different angles.”
