WILLEMSTAD - The negotiations between the Project Management Organization (PMO) of the government company Curaçao Refinery (RdK) and the Klesch Group have taken another very important step. Representatives of the Klesch Group will be in Curaçao in the week of October 14 to continue with the due diligence on the island’s refinery facilities. This will take place in cooperation with the PdVSA’s subsidiary company Refinery Isla. The negotiations on the future operations of the refinery between PMO and Klesch will continue while Klesch does its due diligence. In this way, both companies will maximize the use of the limited time available.
About 20 representatives of the Klesch Group, including their advisors, will be in Curaçao. They won’t be at the same time on the island. They will meet with several experts about the refinery, CRU, and Bullen Bay.
It is imperative for the Klesch Group to get a positive impression of the operations of the refinery facilities. This is also a good opportunity to welcome the potential new investor on the island and showcase the experience and professionalism in the oil industry.
The process to find a strategic partner is progressing steadily according to PMO’s projection. PMO es determined to comply with the mandate given by the government of Curaçao, which is to maintain the refinery open and operating and to ensure a sustainable future for the refinery.
