Sixth complaint against Minister Camelia-Römer

WILLEMSTAD - Member of the opposition party Korsou di Nos Tur (KdNT) Carlos Monk filed another complaint against Minister of Public Health Suzanne Camelia-Römer yesterday.

According to Monk, the minister has once again been guilty of violating the Integrity (candidate) ministers Act, better known as the screening law.

“You see the same modus operandi every time. Investigations now shows that on January 30, 2020 she removed herself in the Chamber of Commerce registry as director of SR Management Inc. That means that when she went through the screening process to become the minister, she was still director of that company.

She was also director of this company when she was previously Minister of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning. She did not deregister until January 30,” said Monk.

On the same day, according to Monk, the minister deregistered from SR Holding Investments.

In a conversation with Curaçao Chronicle, Monk indicated that this is a company that was incorporated into Blue Liaison Holding from 2005 to 2007. “Another company that came under Blue Liaison Holding was Blue Factor and we all know by now that it has taken huge loans from Vidanova and PSB Bank. And our minister was involved in that.”

“The minister always claims that registrations with the Chamber of Commerce are related to foundations. But that has nothing to do with this. These are companies," emphasizes Monk.

“Now I wonder; how can it be that justice takes action at the speed of light against young people who organize a manifestation (referring to “Lon” Mutueel), but acts at the speed of a turtle when it concerns a minister who has repeatedly violated the Screening Act. If the Public Prosecution Service acts according to the law, it is not even necessary to investigate of the facts.

Here is the proof! Yet another proof exposing the immorality and corruption of this minister. The responsibility now lies with the National Criminal Investigation Service and the Public Prosecution Service.”
