WILLEMSTAD - After more than a month, the screening and background check of the intended new Minister of Economic Development, Neysa Schoop-Isenia, has not yet been completed. The leader of the MAN and also Minister of Social Development, Labor and Welfare Hensley Koeiman said that he hoped the screening of the new minister would be completed before the end of the week.
Steven Martina stepped down on February 21 as Minister of Economic Development. Since then, Kenneth Gijsbertha has been combining the finance and economic development ministerial posts.
According to Koeiman these are two very heavy posts. That is why he said he hoped the party could soon present a successor to the post of Economic Development. Schoop-Isenia is currently "chief financial officer" at Aqualectra.
