WILLEMSTAD – This morning, during an official ceremony at the Governor’s Residence in Fort Amsterdam, the Governor of Curaçao, H.E. Lucille George-Wout, acting on behalf of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander, awarded royal honors to twelve Curaçaoan citizens and one Dutch citizen. These decorations were granted in recognition of their exceptional contributions to society — efforts that are vital to the Curaçaoan community and have not gone unnoticed by fellow citizens.
The following individuals received royal decorations:
Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau
Dr. M.D. Winedt, for contributions to religious life, cultural heritage, and equality.
Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau
Mrs. H.M.L.A. Maduro-Molhuysen, for contributions to cultural history.
Mrs. D. Tyrol-Carolus, for work in poverty alleviation and monument preservation.
Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau
Mr. G.A. Adriana, for services to youth and patient welfare.
Mr. O.P.M. Betrian, for contributions to religious life, social welfare, and community cohesion.
Mr. L.A.P. Casper, for work in music and religious life.
Mr. R.L. James, for efforts in religious life, poverty alleviation, and education.
Dr. H. Landman, for work in the field of genealogy.
Mr. A.M. Legrand, for contributions to hiking sports and nature conservation.
Mr. E.A. Martis, for services in religious life, youth welfare, and music.
Mr. I.A. Meijer, for achievements in education, football, and Freemasonry.
Mr. A.J.S. Virginie, for work in media, healthcare, and social welfare.
Governor George-Wout also presented a royal decoration to Mrs. S.M.R. Lückman-Meijer, bestowing upon her the title of Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau for her contributions to culture and education, including in the Caribbean Netherlands. At the request of the Dutch Honors Committee, the award ceremony took place in Curaçao, where Mrs. Lückman-Meijer, a resident of Utrecht, is temporarily staying.
