Rhuggenaath does not respond to letter

WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath has not yet responded to the letter from the Electoral Council asking him to take over from former Member of Parliament Jeser El Ayoubi.

Rhuggenaath has two weeks to respond. If he does not respond, the Supreme Electoral Council will send a letter to the next on the list. It seems that the PAR party is in no hurry to fill the seat formerly occupied by El Ayoubi. This is remarkable because in previous cases the party was in a great hurry to fill in the vacant seats. In the case of Shaheen Elhage, this even led to a lawsuit last year.

President of Parliament Ana Maria Pauletta said last week that Emmilou Capriles will take the new seat. But as long as the party applies a delaying tactic, that is not yet certain. At the moment there are ten Members of Parliament who support the coalition and ten who do not.
