WILLEMSTAD - Refineria di Kòrsou (RdK), which is the public company that owns the refinery, supports the initiative of the Isla trade unions Apri and PWFC, to their leaders to Caracas to secure the position of the refinery's personnel for next year.
RdK has recently informed Venezuelan oil company PdVSA that it has selected a preferred bidder for further negotiations on the acquisition and modernization of the refinery on Curaçao. The unsuccessful candidates are asked to stay in place while attempts are made to conclude a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the candidate of preference.
“The employees of Isla are worried what will happen next year, now there is a big chance that PdVSA will not stay, but there is still a year to go,” says interim director of the public company Marcelino de Lannoy.
