QR code used as admission to high-risk events as of October 19th

WILLEMSTAD - Effective October 19, only vaccinated people will have access to high-risk activities such as parties and sporting events. From Tuesday, the QR code of the Curaçao Health App website will be used as an admission ticket.

Visitors aged twelve or older are only allowed to enter high-risk events with a valid QR code. In low-risk activities, only 100 people are allowed to gather, and a vaccination certificate is not required.

Visitors to restaurants and activities no longer need to be registered from October 19. Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas emphasizes that vaccination is not required by law.

"Inspections and the police will carry out extra strict checks. Maximum fines for violations are still being discussed," said the prime minister.

The curfew will come into effect from Tuesday at 1 a.m. and will continue until 4:30 a.m.

The application for the QR code can currently be requested via the website. According to the government's Communications Department, the app should be ready soon, but there is no precise time indication. "The progress of the app depends on the technology," the department said. The corona app will be available on both Android and iOS.

The digital proof can be requested via www.curacaohealthapp.com. The QR code can also be printed for people who do not have a smartphone.
