WILLEMSTAD – Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas has officially welcomed the Supreme Electoral Council along with a group of international observers who have arrived in Curaçao to monitor the 2025 elections.
The delegation consists of representatives from the Organization of American States (OAS), the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), and the Voting Central Bureau of Sint Maarten. The observers hail from various countries, including Barbados, Suriname, Washington, Sint Maarten, and Guyana.
The observers arrived in Curaçao earlier this week and began their monitoring activities between Monday and Wednesday. Their mission will conclude this Saturday.
Following the elections, the delegation will submit a report to the Supreme Electoral Council, detailing their observations, findings, and experiences during the electoral process. Additionally, they will provide recommendations to enhance the electoral system.
The observers will return to their respective countries on Sunday. Their visit has taken place in a positive and cooperative atmosphere.
