WILLEMSTAD - Drs. Marilyn Alcala-Walle has been assisted for some time by lawyers Olga Henriquez-Kostrzewski, Hubert “Bertie” Braam and Achim Henriquez. A complaint was filed against Marilyn by a fellow citizen. Following the report, Marilyn was identified as a suspect and an investigation was started by the Public Prosecution Service.
Because of this special development, Marilyn, as befits a good and honest person, has resigned as Minister.
Today, the Public Prosecutor's Office informed through her lawyers that it has decided to prosecute Marilyn. It is not yet known exactly what Marilyn will be prosecuted for. This unpleasantly surprising news came at a time from much political tramp. Unfortunately, in all that has happened in recent times, no support has come from the PAR party for Marilyn. Not even a phone call to check on her.
However, now, due to the newly created impasse in the Curacao Parliament, the party has been able to appeal to her to join Parliament swiftly to end this impasse.
After considering everything, especially in view of the fact that Marilyn has not harmed and favored anyone, and has continued to be loyal without appreciating that loyalty, two hard decisions have been made today.
The first is that Marilyn has thanked her seat in the Parliament of Curacao and paved the way for the PAR party to have someone else appointed. The second decision is that Marilyn has immediately withdrawn her involvement with the political party PAR. In short, Marilyn wishes to have nothing more to do with the political party PAR.
On behalf of Marilyn, it is emphasized that the aforementioned decisions do not mean the end of her political career, nor that she will stop serving the community outside of politics.
In the near future, the energy will be put into completing the criminal prosecution apparently initiated by the Public Prosecutor's Office and finding justice for what has been done to Marilyn.
Until further notice, all contact with the press and third parties will be through Mr. Olga Henriquez-Kostrzewski. She can be reached on her mobile number on +5999 516 4056. So if you have any questions or interviews, please contact mr. Henriquez-Kostrzewski.
