Party wants Martina as minister again

WILLEMSTAD - Dr. Steven Martina will become Minister of Economic Affairs again. The members of the MAN party council have made this decision. As a minister, Martina stepped aside when he was being investigated by the Public Prosecution for conflict of interest when he was party of a decision to increase insurance policy fee. Before he became minister, he was the CEO of an insurance company.

The Public Prosecution Service still suspects him but says the will not continue investigating him, unless he goes against the law again. According to his party, the decision of the Public Prosecution paves the way for Martina to take the position of minister of economic development again.

His replacement, Giselle McWilliam, will go back to Parliament.
