Parliament to hold public meeting on functioning of Curaçao General Practitioner Post

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao's Parliament will hold a public meeting on Monday, October 14, to address concerns surrounding the General Practitioner Post (Huisartsenpost, HAP). The session will focus on the current issues within the HAP, with two main agenda points: reviewing incoming documents and holding an in-depth discussion with Minister of Health, Environment, and Nature, Javier Silvania (MFK), regarding the situation at the medical center.

This meeting comes in response to urgent requests from the political factions of MAN-PIN and PNP, following persistent community complaints about the quality of care at the HAP.

The factions have previously called for clarification on several key issues, including staffing levels, availability of medical equipment, adherence to protocols, and administrative procedures that reportedly delay patient care. The Parliament aims to address these concerns during the upcoming session.
