OM wants 10 million dollars back from former bank director Garcia

WILLEMSTAD - The Public Prosecution (OM) wants a five-year prison sentence for the former Director of the Giro Bank, Eric Garcia. The OM also wanted Garcia to be arrested immediately.

Garcia is on trial for fraud, forgery and money laundering.

He did that as a curator of the Banco Maracaibo, which was established in the World Trade Center in Curaçao.

In 2010, Garcia channeled between eleven and twenty million dollars to America. That money was invested in the Giro Bank, of which he was a director.

In addition to the five years, the prosecution is also claiming 10 million dollars from Garcia.

Verdict on May 9 at half-past one.
