Official Opening Curaçao Information Center to Serve Cruise and Stayover Tourists

At Handelskade

WILLEMSTAD - Recently, the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) held the official opening of the Curaçao Information Center to serve cruise and stayover tourists. Here, visitors can find information and recommendations related to tourist attractions, accommodations, restaurants, transportation options, events, and activities in Curaçao.

The Curaçao Information Center is located at Handelskade, across from the ferry terminal. As part of CTB’s efforts to promote sustainable practices, the counter of the information center is made from recycled plastic, and the benches inside are made from recycled wood. In addition, since CTB is a partner of Club 17 Curaçao, the information center has been included on the map of refill stations where people can fill their reusable water bottles as part of the Water Refill Program Curaçao. Inside the center, there is also a display that illustrates the number of plastic bottles saved through this initiative. The official opening of the Curaçao Information Center was conducted by Minister of Economic Development, Roderick Middelhof and CTB Managing Director, Muryad de Bruin.

The outside of the building of the information center features a vibrant artwork designed by local artist Deidre Polonius. Each detail illustrated, reflects something special about Curaçao: the iconic vibrant buildings, the authentic beaches, marine life, history, heritage, nature, and cultural elements. The information center unofficially opened its doors last June and already served various tourists seeking information. Next to the information center, an Politur office has also opened to help ensure safety in the downtown area. The Politur office also houses the H2 Care Medical Service Curaçao unit to provide medical assistance

CTB extends its gratitude to everyone who contributed to the realization of the Curaçao Information Center. The information center is open from Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. During the high cruise tourism season, as well as on holidays and during special events, the center will also remain open to provide services as needed.
