WILLEMSTAD - No motion of no confidence will be filed against Minister Dorothy Pietersz-Janga of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN). The decision was taken on Wednesday after a meeting between coalition partners MFK and PNP.

The minister caused a lot of commotion after she ordered the liquidators of the Health Insurance Office (BZV) to stop the investigation into two ex-board members. Several legal proceedings have been launched against former executives Alli Abdalah and Milton Yarzagaray in connection with claiming government funds that have been misappropriated. Accountant Henry Jourdain and his office were also included in the investigation.

By letter Pietersz-Janga requested that the claim cases be 'fully and unconditionally withdrawn'. In addition, she wanted the foundation to distance itself from all judgments won against Adbalah, Yarzagaray and Jourdain.

The MFK previously announced in a press release that it does not support the statements of their minister. However, she may remain as minister. Sending the letter is reason enough for PNP to submit a motion of rejection during the upcoming Parliamentary Debate. “Pietersz-Janga acted ignorantly, the collaborating parties agree on that. The motion of censure should be seen as a warning," the parties said.
